It has been great to see our Class 60s running on Making Tracks and also 56008. This particular model has been putting in the miles and it is estimated that since August last year it has covered over 40 miles!
Making Tracks with Pete Waterman and the Railnuts makes a return to Chester Cathedral with their new layout Watford Junction which features parts of the World Record Largest Portable Model Railway modelling Watford Junction.
Measuring 64ft x 12ft, Making Tracks 4 – Up to the Junction, will be open each week in August Monday to Saturday giving visitors the opportunity to watch or drive trains on this incredible layout.
The event opens on August 1 and runs until August 31 between 10am and 5pm on weekdays and 10am and 4pm on Saturdays. The Making Tracks exhibit is closed on Sundays and August 16.
For more information, please visit the Chester Cathedral website for more details:

If you are planning to visit, please come and say hello and see some of our products running on Making Tracks 4, including decorated samples of our forthcoming Class 60 locomotive.
Thanks to DB Cargo U.K., we recently had a very enjoyable day out at Toton depot.
Look out for more content from our visit coming soon….
It is always nice to see a model alongside the prototype, here is the Cavalex 56098 with the real locomotive.
Our thanks to GBRf for their help and support with our Class 56 project and to UKRL at Leicester for allowing us to visit their depot for this event.
During the visit to Leicester it was nice to see some of the staff involved in painting both 56098 and 56081. Thank you to Tony Middleton, Drew Ciupek and Jamie Green.
Also our thanks to Rob Reedman for allowing us to use his superb photos on the box for our GBRf Farewell Railtour twin pack.
Continued testing of our Class 60 has been taking place whilst we await pre-production samples from the factory. 60049 looked excellent this week on a rake of BBAs - a big thank you to the Railnuts and Making Tracks team for hosting us and testing the Class 60s. More news to come on the Class 60 project over the next few days!
We had a great time at DEMU Showcase last weekend - a big thank you to everyone that visited our stand and the show organisers for a great time at the show! It was excellent to show off our painted Class 60 samples, and put them to work on Deadmans Lane. Thanks to Jack Taylor for this excellent photo of the GBRF example.
We’re looking forward to attending the Rails Of Sheffield shop event tomorrow - if you’re in the area, please do come and say hello!
